Storytelling for selected Rock Hill second graders.
Presented by national storytellers Willy Claflin and
The Storycrafters. Guest tellers travel to Rock Hill
schools to tell to the remaining second graders.
STORYTELLER LUNCHEON
  11:45 a.m.-1:00 p.m

DOWN HOME: STORIES AND FOLK MUSIC FOR ADULTS
  2:45-4:30 pm Baxter Hood Center, York Tech.
Join us for a delightful afternoon of traditional and
contemporary stories told by national storytellers
Willy Claflin and The Storycrafters. Enjoy bluegrass
music at its best by The Shady Grove Band.
Light refreshments served. Hosted by the YCL

Treat yourself to an unforgettable evening of tales
told by national storytellers Leeny Del Seamonds,
Willy Claflin, and The Storycrafters. Relax in an old-timey
atmosphere while you listen to the unforgettable
and imaginative tales of the masters.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m with special music by The
Old Fogies Band. Recommended for ages 7 & up.

TELL IT AGAIN! STORIES ALIVE WORKSHOP

3 hours of DSS Certification.

8:30 - 9:00 a.m. Registration/Continental Breakfast
9:00 - 10:15 a.m. Fractured Fairy Tales and
Scrambled Nursery Rhymes
presented by Willy
Claflin. This session teaches participants how to write
fractured versions of traditional fairy tales and nursery
rhymes. Using the original story line as the plot, learn
to re-tell a tale in comic fashion and with new characters.

10:15 - 10:30 a.m. Break
10:30 a.m. - Noon Spoken Word Alive! Ay, Ay, Ay!
presented by Leeny Del Seamonds. Join Cuban-
American Master Story Performer Leeny Del
Seamonds in this highly participatory workshop
designed to bring words alive with vocal variety,
movement, gestures, and characterizations. Be prepared
to move, challenge yourself, and have fun as
we act out one of Leeny’s Latino tales.
MADCAP PUPPET THEATRE PRESENTS LONG LOST STORIES
  1:30 p.m. Baxter Hood Center, York Tech
In the center of a forbidden attic sits a long-forgotten
trunk. Two young explorers, Chris and Jessie, discover
the trunk and are trapped by its secrets. Chris
becomes the prisoner of the monster, Jasper, and can
be freed only when Jessie finds a story that Jasper
does not know. Will Jessie save Chris? Join in the
adventure and let your imagination soar in this exciting
treasure of tales from around the world.

All ages.
1 hour DSS Certification. Free admission and
parking. Doors open at 12:45 p.m.
GHOSTLY GALLERY: EERIE TALES FOR TEENS AND ADULTS
  7:00-8:45 p.m. Baxter Hood Center, York Tech
Enter if you dare! Ghosts, goblins and creepy things
come alive in spine-tingling tales sure to fill a dark
and eerie evening. Featuring Leeny Del Seamonds
and The Storycrafters, with special guest teller,
Darion McCloud. Festival emcee, Tim Lowry.

Recommended for grades 6-adult.
Concessions available. Hosted by the YCL Teen
Advisory Board.
Free admission and parking.
