How to Install Hard Flooring

Installing hard flooring can be a DIY project or left to professionals. We have guides for each material type here but below are the general steps: 

 

  • Measure the space and purchase the appropriate amount of flooring material with 10% wastage included.
  • Prepare the subfloor by ensuring it is clean, level, and dry.
  • Install any necessary underlayment, such as a waterproofing or soundproofing.
  • Install your chosen flooring material by following the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Finish your floor with any necessary trim, moulding or scotia.
